Chabala Mercy Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of disadvantaged girls in Zambia, Africa.

Our mission is to empower as many girls as possible to discover their value and reach their full potential, by alleviating them from poverty, providing them with an education and ensuring a safe and healthy living environment.

Over the last several years, we have been working to restore the former home of Peter Chabala in the small town of Roan, Copperbelt Province,  into a safe and secure home that can accommodate up to 8 girls and one caregiver. This home is within walking distance of a school that the girls can attend.

Here’s why we need your help

Your monthly support will provide adequate food, clothing, shelter, and access to education for one of Chabala’s Children. Or your one-time donation can go towards the maintenance of the home, provision of a caregiver, and ongoing support of our mission.

Upcoming Programs

Our start has been modest. So far we have provided life’s basic needs such as food, shelter, health care and education for children in our care through the support of our donors. But we are learning more each day and are developing a number of programs which will help us to strengthen the communities we are working in. This planned community development approach will help us empower children and families to break out of the cycle of poverty and underdevelopment:

  1. Building more homes close to schools.
  2. Starting a bursary scheme which can identify children with academic potential but with no financial support to see them through school
  3. Establishing feeding programs
  4. Supporting sports, clubs, and other positive extracurricular activities
